Simple Joys

Actually I'm squeaking in under the wire.

My favorite accessory to use after stamps, dies, and inks is embossing powder!
My card uses Ranger Fine Gold and Detail White embossing powders.
The blossom and stem are stacked three deep for depth.
Distress Oxide inks mowed lawn, scattered straw, and tumbled glass
were blended over the gold embossed grid panel.
Everything else is Papertrey Ink:
Cover Up: Grid, Doodlie-Do, Noted Scalloped: A2, Rosie Posie and Stemmed Statements

February Hearts

We've been in San Diego for the past month and the internet at our RV park was slower than molasses. Other than vacation pics posted on Instagram while sitting at Starbucks, I didn't post for card challenges. I have missed several challenges for entering my "heart" cards but heck, they deserve a share anyhow!

These cards were sent to two of my grandsons. Two Papertrey Ink Pierced Feature Frames cut from Hawaiian Shores and Bitty Big cardstock frame the retired PTI Be Mine, Valentine stamps.

Jim's Valentine card features the center portion of Simon Says Cling Rubber Stamp Center Cut Heart. It was stamped in black Momento ink and colored with Copics. A sentiment from PTI Splits: With Love and red Nuvo drops completed the design on
the white SS stitched rectangle panel and adhered to a gray card.

My final heart card uses the same SS Center Cut Heart stamped in pink and fussy cut. It embellishes the SSS Diamond Pattern wafer die cut from PTI Raspberry Fizz cardstock and added to a PTI Soft Stone card front. These two PTI cardstocks colors are favorites of mine and qualify for Laurie's Fabulous Favorites Challenge #2. The sentiment is from PTI Boutique Borders: Birthday and was white embossed on a dark gray paper strip.

I appreciate your visit and look forward to seeing your creations around the internet.

Valentine, I'm Your Greatest Fan

Simon Says: Love is in the Air

My hon and I are on a San Diego-SoCal break and cards for our three grandsons were made before we left on January 13. I used a retired PTI stamp set, Be Mine, Valentine which is full of puns. This week's SSSM Challenge, "Love Is in the Air" coordinates well with one of the cards. The sentiment inside the card reads, "I'm Your Greatest Fan"!  Perfecto!!

Card Supplies:
PTI Be Mine, Valentine (retired but dies available)
PTI Sentiment Splits: Curved Vertical die
Thanks for stopping by and if it makes you feel better,
it's raining steady in San Diego today.

Happy Birthday

Seize the Birthday #157 - Stamping Only

I'm participating in the current Seize the Birthday challenge where the main focus is stamping. My card does include two die cut panels. The white card stock was first cut with a PTI Mix & Mat: Confetti die including the inner stitched frame. I masked the edges and stamped a variety of flowers and leaves from PTI's Botanical Bounty II set in bright colors. A PTI Graceful Greetings sentiment was added to the center. Bitty Big: Simply Chartreuse paper was cut with a SSS stitched rectangle and adhered to a white card front.

While the stamp set out was on my desk, I cut another white panel with the PTI Scallop Stackers: Large die and repeated my design. The stamped panel was centered on the large dotted side of a BB: Simply Chartreuse panel glued directly to a white card front.

Thanks for your visit. I'm visiting San Diego's Mission Bay RV park for a month and hope to get a few more cards made with my little travel box of goodies. I love visiting your blogs and Instagram posts.

You are so loved

Many card blogs are featuring Valentines cards with the Christmas-New Year's rush over. My card would work well for Valentines and is linked to Time Out Challenge #126: LovingBut this card celebrates a birthday next week for one of the first friends I made when we moved to Oregon in 1973. Karen moved to a sunny, warmer state a few years ago but we visit each other at least once a year. She's not aware of my blog or Instagram so it should still be a surprise.

Card Supplies:
Birch Press Stackable Grace Mandala dies
Concord & 9th Mosaic Turnabout stamp
Papertrey Penned Elegance II stamp
Papertrey Tag Sale #12 die

Card Supplies:
PTI Stylish Sentiments: Birthday stamp
PTI Shape Shifters: Circle 1 die
Concord & 9th Mosaic Turnabout stamp
PTI paper & MISTI
Distress Oxides: abandoned coral, ripe persimmon, scattered straw, spiced marmalade

This card is linked to MIM #346 2018 A La Carte

Winter Wishes

Happy 2019!!

Stopping by with my first card of the year, a winter scene.
I have enjoyed stamping, coloring, and die cutting the various
parts of the October Hero Arts MMH kit recently. With January
and February winter birthdays to celebrate, I used the kit again
but without the Christmas tree trimming parts of it.

I have fond memories of the nearby city park and its ice skating area where neighbors would bring their skates to enjoy time on the wind-cured bumpy surface.

Card Supplies: Hero Arts MMH October stamps & dies, PTI Mighty Oak, PTI Trendy Treetops (birds), Poppy Stamps Whittle Fox die, SSS Stitched Rectangles, glitter washi tape, clear Wink of Stella shimmer pen, Rock Candy Stickles, Prismacolor pencils

Linking this to the current A Blog Named Hero: Winter Challenge
