Merry Christmas

Make It Monday #179

Emboss Resist Using Diecuts

another fun technique to stretch your die cuts by using them as a stencil to emboss resist

I made a stencil from PTI's Triangle Cover Plate.
The little triangles reminded me of Christmas trees,
so I used green inks to shade the background.
Next I die cut a tree from silver foil paper and
directly adhered it to background panel,  embossed
the sentiment on vellum, folding edges around the
back of panel to secure before mounting panel with
foam tape on a green A2 card.

Papertrey Ink Dies: Triangle Cover Plate, Christmas Tree
Inks: Versamark; Ranger Distress Inks Peeled Paint,
Iced Spruce, Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles
Embossing Powders: Hero Arts Clear, Platinum Tinsel
                                Stamps: Think Big Favorites #20

Celebrating with you

Make It Monday #176: Take 2

Backgrounds with Embossing Paste

Check out Laura Bassen's video at Make It Monday

As I was lifting the Modern Cross Quilt
used on the previous card, I thought
"What would the negative look like on a card?"
I quickly grabbed an A2 white card and carefully
placed the still wet stencil face down on it, pressing gently.
It didn't look too bad, more muted yet with some texture
as you see in the second close up photo.
Hate to waste any of that fun embossing paste!

PTI Modern Cross Quilt cover plate, Tag Sale #8, and Circle Scribbles die.
Stamp: Ruby Reprise for sentiment
Previous card has Distress Inks used for coloring Dreamweaver Embossing Paste.
Gold & copper shimmer paper, vellum for tag & scribble circles, raffia ribbon for the bow.

OCC Watercolor for Card Makers

Day 3 & 4
Watercolor Stamping

I used Distress Inks on PTI Meadow Greens stamps, misted with water,
and stamped on watercolor paper. I wet a small round brush & gently
washed over pink blossoms to blur slightly. PTI Wonderful Words: Love
was stamped in Momento London Fog. This panel was adhered to a pink
card stock dry embossed with large dots Lifestyle Crafts folder and then
mounted on a white A2 card with rounded corners on all layers.
Inside stamped PTI Bold Bouquet phrase - "You're simply the best"
to make this a Mother's Day card for my 95 year old M-In-Law.

Happy Birthday

PTI Make It Monday #161: Watercolor Splats

I daubed 4 different Distress Inks on a 4.25 x 5.5 white card stock panel
blending each color like Heather showed us. Used a small round brush to
create the water splats and adhered the panel to a top-folding white A2 card.
I die cut the new PTI Cover Plate: Modern Cross Quilt Die and mounted it on top
of the colored panel with dimension tape. The sentiment from PTI Boutique
Borders: Birthday was stamped with Hero Arts Navy Mid-tone Shadow ink and
fastened to die cut with a blue staple. Distress Inks used: Chipped Sapphire,
Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, and Mowed Lawn.
