25 Days of Christmas Tags: Day 4

Today's tag features a wreath, word die sentiment and traditional red and green colors! In looking at the daily designs on the 25 Days website, I chose a red bookmark design by Tatiana Trafimovich. The wreath was stacked three layers high for reinforcement, "joy" was cut from green glitter paper, and green DI was splattered on the red tag. While Tatiana cut two different green card stocks for her wreathes, mine used different shades of green inks to add more depth. A fun tag that will probably be added to a card front next month.

Hello Friend mini card

I grabbed a small note card that had been sitting in my pile for a year and decorated the front with PTI's Grand Botanicals and a sentiment from Pink Fresh Studio's Delicate Wreath. The leaves were cut from a smooshed DI panel. The curved edge on the front was not standing out like I wanted. I rubbed the VersaMark ink pad along the edge and heat embossed using sparkly Ranger Black Glitter powder. It will be a nice gift tag card.

WISH YOU THE MOST beautiful day

Recently I've been shopping my stash more. It's easy to be distracted with new products and ignore purchases not yet inked or cut. As the adage says, I'm a crafter and therefore I hoard! The Hero Arts Paper Layering Neighborhood die D1535 caught my eye last fall. I have an older large HA village stamp that I've neglected but it didn't prevent this die from joining my architecture collection. Using houses and city buildings varies card designs from my go-to florals and is appropriate for many situations and individuals.

Saturday Assortment

At last, a sunny day to enjoy my stamping nook and enter a couple of challenges after two weeks of unexpected snow and power outages. I recently purchased the original MISTI because my Concord & 9th turnabout stamps and wreath building sets were not getting out of the bin often. Using a mini Misti is awkward with these larger sets. After watching Kristina Werner's Friday series on ink blending with Distress Oxide inks, I also wanted to experiment with color and turnabouts make that fun!  This first card fits the current Color Throwdown #353 challenge using gray, purple, lavender and kraft.

 Card #1

Concord & 9th Wreath Turnabout
Papertrey Ink Penned Elegance II stamp/dies, Pierced Feature Frames die, Tinsel & Tags die

The next card was created before Christmas but never posted. "Just Us Girls" #478  Trend Week using a background stamp works well for sharing it today.

Leaves and more leaves

Recently I purchased Papertrey's Text and Texture: Leaves set which
when layered creates interesting backgrounds.  I made three autumn-themed
cards and a lavender birthday card just for the heck of it!

And here they are!!!

Stamped on green cardstock with two shades of green. The second layer was then stamped with VersaMark ink and copper embossed. A copper colored sentiment from PTI's Scripted dies was added along with two Leaf Print leaves and a Simply Gourd-eous pumpkin. SSS stitched rectangle dies finished the two panels which were directly glued to a kraft card.

Card #2 was stamped with Olive Twist and gold inks, no embossing. A sentiment from PTI Words to Live By: Gratitude was stamped and embossed with WOW lime EP and a smaller sentiment stamped in Olive Twist ink was added below.

Card #3 was stamped in neutral inks on white card stock, mounted on a PTI Autumn Chicken Scratch Gingham panel, and adhered to a white card. A Text & Texture: Leaves sentiment was added with the larger word white embossed.

Card #4 has the leaves stamped in white and light purple inks. A Tag Sale: Quilted banner and two Leaf Silhouette die cuts were added to the bottom corner. The upper leaf's solid back was cut from white glitter paper. The lower leaf's dark pattern uses the purple remnants from the top leaf to form its pattern. This was mailed to a friend celebrating #70 on 9/19 the day she moved across town! One birthday she won't forget!!
