Merry Christmas snow flurries

Make It Monday 3259 - Ombre' Cluster Stamping

MIM features Dawn's cluster stamping in ombre' tones at the capture the moment blog
                                                             Here is her pretty example.

With school starting and fall arriving in 3 weeks, I'm focused on Christmas cards. We're off in our Winnebago this Thursday to Glacier National Park and other NW parks for two weeks. There will
be no card making along the way but I may bring some stamped images to color in the evenings.

The more this card sat at my desk I thought it needed glamming up! So I die cut the three different size flakes, stamped in the original colors for that size and embossed with an old non-brand Holographic Gloss powder to give it some Christmas snow sparkle. I like it much better. It also emphasizes the cascading effect of the different sized flakes.

Card Menu:
Papertrey Ink Stamps: Snowflake Flurries (vault), Bunny Basket (tiny flower star)
PTI Die: Snowflake Flurries
Hero Arts shadow inks: Pool, Silver, Soft Pool and Soft Stone
Silver paint pen to frame the flat panel, a bit of clear Wink of Stella on snowflake centers

Autumn fox tags

Make It Monday #258: Cover Plate Tags

Laurie demonstrated the use of cover plates to decorate gift tags. I chose the Cover Plate: Modern Cross Quilt and Triangle dies for my two tags made from the PTI Tag Sale 4 die. Kay Miller's new Stylized Autumn stamp and die set arrived yesterday so they were put to immediate use! On a previous video Laurie used a spray adhesive to glue down intricate die cuts and that tip has been a lifesaver.

I love this darling fox!

Birthday wishes

August 2016 Blog Hop Challenge

Always a surprise to see what Nichole finds for the monthly challenge!
This month choice is an artist's palette of soft pastels, earthy oranges
                        and a touch of navy!

My reaction is CAS: a one layer card with a couple of PTI Watercolor Wonder
stamps and a sentiment from Winter Woods. The panel was modified with the
PTI linen impression plate and framed by a taupe linen card.

Hop on over to the PTI Blog Hop to see the rest of the projects!

This is such a fun challenge: to create a card inspired by the PTI monthly release of projects! I choose a card from  Betsy Veldman from the 2nd day of the August countdown by all the designers.

Isn't this sweet? Here's my case using the previously released Fancy Tea Cup die.

Card Menu: All Papertrey Ink Products except for inks.

Soft Stone bitty polka dot card stock with a bit of Festive Berries ink blending
Tea cup dies cut from paint chip cards

Why hello there

Make It Monday #257
Sentiment Strip Grounding

Today's card was inspired by Lexi Daly's method for grounding a stamped or
die cut image in this week's MIM challenge. Instead of using a strip of paper
I scored two lines in the panel below the stamped PTI Bold Bouquet floral
group before stamping the sentiment. It needed something more to anchor it
so a notch at each end of the scored lines helped secure the strands of pink and
coral twine. The panel was mounted on fun foam before attaching to the
PTI Summer Sunrise card stock base.

Merry Christmas

Time Out #63

It's been a while since I've joined the Time Out group but their current challenge theme of Holidays with the Optional Twist of No Stamping intrigued me plus provided the impetus to begin the Christmas card stash. Papertrey Ink dies were used for the design and a SSS stitched rectangle die for the panel.

The sentiment for card #1 was die cut from red glitter paper.

The tree was decorated with various colored Stickles and
the background created with a SSS Falling Snow stencil.

The 2nd card used dark red card stock for the sentiment die. I left some of the centers intact.

I'm including this card at Time Out
