Blessed

Good morning! Here's my card today made after many minutes of gluing fine lines of the navy outline and filling in the details with blue and turquoise leaves. Due to an accidental ink spot on the background the entire project was splattered with more color! Ha ha for CAS - not.

The NBUS Leafy Envelope (PFS) was die cut from watercolor paper and all the pieces fell out.  I gently ink blended HA Navy ink over the outline and glued it to a white panel. Next the large leaves sections were colored with copic markers and inlaid in the appropriate spots. The other leaves were left unfilled but colored again with copics.  I masked the envelope area and splattered ink around the area. The panel was placed on an aqua-turquoise card front. My friend Greta kindly shared the PTI Blessed die cuts a while ago and this statement touched my heart. In this pandemic time I've been blessed by old friends and new acquaintances found on card blogs sending "thinking of you" and "hello" cards. Thank you all.

Today would have been my dad's 94th birthday. We surprised him on his final birthday 40 years ago so that he could meet his youngest grandson, six months old then. Little did we know he would die from a stroke five months later. I was loved and blessed by him.

Moody Blues of all shades

We've been enjoying the lazy days of summer which in the pacific northwest can be heavenly. With the lure to be outside I have not been disciplined enough to write blog posts and thus have accumulated many cards not yet posted. So, today I'm sharing three different cards with a variety of products each with a major emphasis on blue shades.

Card #1

After ink blending several blue Concord & 9 inks in an ombre progression, I stamped the Pink Fresh Studio hexagon outline. Then I used the hexagon florals and stamped inside each space using the same Cn9 order. I die cut the corresponding hexagon from navy card stock and glued it over the stamped outline. A gold love cut from a gold adhesive sheet was added along with the extra popped up sentiment.  The card was sent to good friends in Washington state who celebrate their 58th anniversary today.

Card #2

A cousin celebrates her birthday tomorrow. She mothers 103 orchid plants through out her home, patio and greenhouse. Not having an orchid stamp, I used a watercolored panel to die cut the fabulous Altenew Fantasy Floral 3D rose and leaves from it. Next I loosely painted Altenew metallic watercolors on a die cut panel with additional streaks and splatters of gold watercolors. The gold leaf sprig was added to bolster the rose group. The bloom reminds me of my Chicago Peace rose bush at our former home.

Card Menu: Altenew Fantasy Floral 3D and Leaf Canopy dies and Beautiful Day sentiment, Altenew metallic watercolor pan set, The Greetery Nordic Frames die

Card #3

The final card was inspired by the current Fusion Card challenge. The picture's colors, water pattern, leaves and dragonfly were my inspiration.  I randomly ink blended the various DIs and die cut the panel. Then stamped the leaves with Brilliant Moonlight White ink over the blended panel. A variety of DOs were blended on another panel before stamping the dragonfly and embossing with sparkly powder. It was fussy cut and popped up with foam adhesive tape over the white leaves.

Card Menu: PTI Palm Prints, The Greetery Sentiment Suite: Thinking of You, SSS Stitched Rectangles, a very old wood American Art Stamps dragonfly

All three cards will be linked to this week's SSSW Challenge: Anything Goes. The second card linked to Virginia's Show & Share challenge. The third card will be linked to the Fusion Card challenge.

Delicate wreath set

The month of May is my busiest birthday card season, how about you? I begin the middle of April because once May 9 arrives it's non-stop through May 14 with a few days having double or triple friends to celebrate. I also sent a small set of notecards as gifts to a couple of friends adding to the crafting fun! Today's post shares one of these sets plus the birthday card that accompanied it. All five cards used Pink Fresh Studio's Delicate Wreath stamp and with the exception of the birthday card were one-layer stamped panels attached directly to A2 card fronts. The sentiments were either from the same set or PTI's Walk by Faith.
The birthday card
Using my Misti I stamped the wreath using green, pool and light tan inks onto a cream PTI Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical panel. The interior of the wreath was cut with a Delicate Wreath die and the panel was rotated sideways and trimmed to fit the kraft card. A DI ink blended scrap of white card stock was adhered to the card front and the panel foam mounted to create a framed window for the sentiment, wood bird, and sequins.

Card #2
The wreath was stamped with ombre shades of Altenew inks.
I masked the wreath before splattering the panel with the
same inks. DW sentiment

Card #3
Hero Art shadow inks color this wreath on a Noted:
Scalloped A2 Vertical panel. PTI sentiment

Card #4
A SS stitched rectangle panel offset with dotted strips was stamped in gold.
Tiny butterflies from PTI's Beautiful Butterflies were added for interest
along with the PTI sentiment.

Card #5
The wreath was stamped in gold again on a Greetery
Nordic Frames die cut panel. PTI sentiment

Birthday Wishes

On one of the many sales last month I picked up a stamp and die set from PinkFresh Studio that had been on my wishlist for a long time. The variety of leaves and plants in the two large stamps were fun to water color with my Altenew 36 pan set. The stamps were gold embossed first which helped me control the flow of color as my skills are minimal. The sentiment was stamped in stages using my Misti to create the ombre effect. The card was sent to an older friend who was our family doctor and delivered our second son 40 years ago this April.

Card Supplies: PFS Lush Greenery stamps/die
PTI Penned Elegance II sentiment

PinkFresh Studio STAMPtember cards

I'm dropping two cards on the blog tonight after a month of creating many cards but not posting any! Such a lazy woman, right?

I don't often buy SSS STAMPtember stamp sets but after seeing a project by Nina-Marie using the 2019 collaboration PinkFresh stamp set I made my order with a couple more items.

Nina-Marie's inspiration

The frame was stamped on watercolor paper and gold embossed before loosely watercoloring the images with my Altenew pan set. I finished the panel with a sentiment from The Greetery and die cut the panel with a SSS stitched rectangle. But remembering Nina-Marie's fussy cutting, I bravely fussy cut my panel staying inside of the stitching. It was attached to a green card front which was modified with a PTI linen impression plate for texture. A light rubbing of Delicata Golden Glitz ink around the card edges finished the card with a few clear droplets.

My version

A second version was stamped in black ink, clear embossed and colored with Altenew watercolors. A SSS sentiment was stamped in gold but clear embossing unfortunately altered the golden sheen. Then I risked the entire project by stamping a PTI grid in light ink with some masking over the sentiment and finished with clear sequins.

Thanks for the visit.
