Betsy used a Woodblock Prints stencil as her guide for a demo card in this week's MIM.
I used a different stencil from the same set, several Distress Inks and a water brush to
paint my design on watercolor paper. After it dried, the panel was die cut and mounted
directly to a saffron spice card. It was embellished with several flowers from
Gran's Garden. I must confess to casing a similar card by Dawn McVey.

But wait, I can't waste the wet ink on top of my stencil!!  I laid a stitched panel
of white card stock on the wet stencil and got a funky negative image as a result.
Two butterfly die-cuts mounted with foam tape on a stitched gold vellum rectangle
and finished with a simple sentiment made a second card!

BE brave, kind, happy, true, bold

Make It Monday: #281
Patterns Behind Die-Cut Windows

Oh, the possibilities in die-cutting a window and showing-off a patterned background.
My inspiration is from Dawn McVey on the recent MIM challenge. I made my window
with a circle die on the dotted paper. To make a flat card for easy mailing, I adhered the
panel directly to a yellow card rather than foam to make a window. Two wreath die-cuts,
one yellow and the other dark bronze were glued together to frame the circle window.
A pattern of words and dots from the "Be" stamp set were stamped on the yellow card
front. The inside sentiment is "Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful" from Choose Joy.

Stamps: PTI Be, Choose Joy (inside)
Dies: PTI Rustic Wreath, Spellbinders Standard Circles

some bunny loves you

PTI Make It Monday #280
Stamping Outside of the Box

Lexi's video at PTI's Make It Monday challenge inspired today's spring card.

Papertrey Stamps & Dies
Bunny Basket & Mat Stack 3

I stamped the bunny in Hero Arts Soft Lilac on pattern paper and added purple Stickles eyes. The grass is half of a circle, trimmed with Martha Stewart fringe scissors and decorated with green Stickles. I propped up the bunny ears with foam adhesive and placed the "basket" on a couple of scored lines. Thanks, Lexi, for a fun challenge!

without a little rain

Make It Monday #279:
Curved Sentiments

If I showed the mounted sentiment in a straight line, you would notice the curve more.
I made this while watching my OR Ducks play a semi-final at the Big Four which we lost,
 barely, thus the rain.

Make It Market: Sunshine & Rainbows stamps, die, paper & sequins
Noted: Scalloped A2 die (embossed edge)
Copic markers, Momento Tuxedo Black
