My Imaginary Neighborhood

I've been waiting to share my neighborhood card made earlier this month for a friend in our former city. Having moved after 46 years in the same area, Concord & 9ths City Stacks set has sat on my desk lately. When I stopped by Joyce's blog today, I saw my chance. Not only had she used the same sentiment on her card but my color choices matched the Color Throwdown challenge she was inspired by.

I'm glad to have moved within a mile of our grandsons but do miss our old friends. New friendships have been put mostly on hold as we've quarantined in our new home. The neighbors are friendly and as the warmer summer days settle in we'll be able to share our backyard with them as we have our son's family.

Colorful Cards

I saw the lineup of my favorite Clarks All Stars on the latest Inspired by Challenge Colorful Kicks (my pair are the Oregon Ducks' green) and wondered what to create. I don't recall any shoe stamps or dies in my storehouse but improvisation is part of a challenge. Using the PTI Brushed Off set I stamped two different rainbow cards. The rainbow lineup of the shoes inspired my design on both cards. Ranger Distress inks were used for the rainbow hues (the new Speckled Egg on the first card). BTW,  I also do not own rainbow stamps or dies.

Delicate wreath set

The month of May is my busiest birthday card season, how about you? I begin the middle of April because once May 9 arrives it's non-stop through May 14 with a few days having double or triple friends to celebrate. I also sent a small set of notecards as gifts to a couple of friends adding to the crafting fun! Today's post shares one of these sets plus the birthday card that accompanied it. All five cards used Pink Fresh Studio's Delicate Wreath stamp and with the exception of the birthday card were one-layer stamped panels attached directly to A2 card fronts. The sentiments were either from the same set or PTI's Walk by Faith.
The birthday card
Using my Misti I stamped the wreath using green, pool and light tan inks onto a cream PTI Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical panel. The interior of the wreath was cut with a Delicate Wreath die and the panel was rotated sideways and trimmed to fit the kraft card. A DI ink blended scrap of white card stock was adhered to the card front and the panel foam mounted to create a framed window for the sentiment, wood bird, and sequins.

Card #2
The wreath was stamped with ombre shades of Altenew inks.
I masked the wreath before splattering the panel with the
same inks. DW sentiment

Card #3
Hero Art shadow inks color this wreath on a Noted:
Scalloped A2 Vertical panel. PTI sentiment

Card #4
A SS stitched rectangle panel offset with dotted strips was stamped in gold.
Tiny butterflies from PTI's Beautiful Butterflies were added for interest
along with the PTI sentiment.

Card #5
The wreath was stamped in gold again on a Greetery
Nordic Frames die cut panel. PTI sentiment

Hello Friend

One of my goals this spring has been to use my older stuff along with the new. Most of the time I completely forget about stencils and my handy notebook where they are kept in clear page protector sheets. I found a Heidi Swapp 3 stencils set: a geometric pattern, a large butterfly and its mask to add color on the background. I taped a panel of Bristol paper to the mat, added the butterfly and blended a light yellow ink. Next I placed the geometric pattern stencil on top of the butterfly stencil and added a darker yellow ink. I should have stopped there but later added the aqua spots.  A Concord & 9 Serif alphabet set spells out the "hello" with the smaller friend stamped below. The panel was cut with the largest SS Wonky Rectangle die and added to an aqua card front.

Hello Gorgeous

A "Hello" card for this post was created after receiving a "Zoom" virtual 60th birthday invitation. Anne was scheduled to celebrate the event in Hawaii with her family but had to cancel for you know what. Big, big disappointment, right? Immediately I thought of an older set "Some Like It Hot" (PTI) to recreate the paradise of Hawaii for Anne. Extra leaves were added from Palm Prints (PTI) and the sentiment from Infinity Frames (PTI).

Incidentally the party was a huge success with over 50
of us toasting her with favorite beverages and dessert!

Flowers and Wings

Have you tried Altenew's metallic watercolors? They are dreamy colors. I recently brushed sky blue, aqua and gold on Bristol paper with the idea that their glow would beautifully support a simple floral line image. I used the Altenew Beautiful Day stamps for the focus and added a gold embossed PTI Walk by Faith sentiment. The panel was directly glued to a kraft card front.

It's one of my favorite cards this spring. Linked to Addicted to CAS: #184 - Flower

The next card uses all PTI products: Songbirds, Swoosh and a Linen impression plate. After impressing a piece of lavender card stock with the linen plate, I die cut the spray of leaves from the panel and replaced it with a Bitty Big Lilac spray of the same leaves. A nest of silver thread holds a small Songbird stamped in yellow. Linked to AAA Birthday #13: Things with Wings

Hello Friend mini card

I grabbed a small note card that had been sitting in my pile for a year and decorated the front with PTI's Grand Botanicals and a sentiment from Pink Fresh Studio's Delicate Wreath. The leaves were cut from a smooshed DI panel. The curved edge on the front was not standing out like I wanted. I rubbed the VersaMark ink pad along the edge and heat embossed using sparkly Ranger Black Glitter powder. It will be a nice gift tag card.
