Love You

Papertrey Ink December Blog Hop

Christmas time is a busy time for all and especially crafters!
We got home from our family Chrismtas in Portland, Oregon late this afternoon. My card is inspired by this sweet, floral heart wreath.  I chose a floral frame, colored it with Copics, and placed it at an angle on the card front. The frame edges were trimmed to fit the card. The word die sentiment was layered on top with a sprinkling of lime green bling. The taupe card front was chosen to reflect on the hillside in the background. No stamping at all on this card - all PTI dies.

Christmas card parade

When it's less than a week before Christmas and you're still crafting cards, it's time to panic!
I've enjoyed older stamp and die sets, pattern papers and using new stuff too!

Card #1
This is a case from tjeter912 on instagram. Seeing her card inspired
me to use dies from PTI Tinsel & Tags and Petite Places Church.

Card #2
Several cards by Mary Rose prompted me to use the Make it Market Holiday
Folk mini kit. I found a preprinted sheet from the kit to embellish.

Cards 3 & 4
PTI MIM Holiday Folk kit again. The background and center
panels were cut with PTI Scalloped A2 Vertical dies from PTI
gingham, pattern paper from the folk kit and watercolor cardstock.

praying for you

Time for the monthly CAWU inspired by PTI's new products.
They were outstanding, enticing and my order has been placed.

My card. 1st attempt

 Inspired by Heather Nichols card

Heather used the new Window Works die to
create her window - the #1 item on my order list.

My card. 2nd Attempt, amended as I couldn't see the little
hearts stamped at each corner which I traced with a gold pen.
I also thought a bit of ribbon would help.

A window close-up with an outline heart at each corner.

Merry and Bright

Stopping by to add a second card for the We Love You Dawn!  hop that I made in honor of Dawn McVey's creative talent with Papertrey Ink.  It's wonderful to hear of her progress since her recent rare surgery at Georgetown Univ. Hospital.
Dawn is easy to love with her attitude of joyful optimism combined with faith. And she encourages lots of color in her crafts and decor which I tried with raspberry fizz, purple, and green and lots of layering.

Grateful for You

We Love You Dawn!
Official Blog Hop

Designer Dawn McVey has been an active part of the paper crafting industry for nearly a decade. Not only has she played an important role within the Papertrey community, she has always been a ray of sunshine to others through blogging and social media. Many of you are familiar with the personal health struggles she has had over the past few years, and might have seen the recent news that she is now a proud small intestine transplant survivor.
Friends in the community thought there would be no better way to honor Dawn and support her during her journey to recovery than to make a colorful, vibrant presentation of get well soon greetings. Dawn has always brought color and joy into our lives, and now we are able to do the same for her.

Using the PTI "Enclosed: Leaf" stamp & die set from Dawn's Raspberry Suite line

On the inside of the card I used a sentiment from
Tulip Time as this implant represents new life, new
beginnings for Dawn. We are so very grateful for
modern medicine and God's healing hand in her life.

Christmas Wishes

Make it Monday #301:
Matting with Glitter

Ooh, am I out of my comfort zone this week with the MIM challenge.

My roadblock for this challenge was the need for adhesive sheets which I have not purchased. When another challenge entry noted using score tape to create her mat, a light bulb turned on! Yay,  I have a narrow-width score tape roll and also unused MS glitter. And the card below is the result.

I white-embossed a tree on PTI dotted vellum and adhered it to a previously water-colored
rectangle. I carefully applied the score tape to the edges and glittered away, combining both
baby blue and lime green MS glitters. Voila! a glitter mat for plain-old-card-making me to
share this season! I added fun foam on the back before mounting it on another water color
paper rectangle. This panel was adhered to an aqua card.

Every leaf

Papertrey October Blog Hop Challenge

This is our stunning inspiration!!
I love the variety of images and plan to refer back to it often.

I am not a watercolorist. You would know if I shared my attempts at some of these squares.
This time of year I love seeing trees and leaves and decided my inspiration choice would the
third rows' tree. I found the older cover plate Mighty Oak and played with it. Its leaves were
were too large for my design though so Oopsie Daisy die cut petals, sponged with various
autumn colors, rescued the situation. The tree was grounded in the confines of a blue Mix
& Mat: Flourishes die frame and a Mighty Oak sentiment represents the hill.

Drop by Capture the Moment's blog to see all the entries~
I plan to hop throughout the day also.

Christmas Card Trio

Make It Monday #300:
Build-a-Wreath

Melissa shared several ideas for creating wreaths
on her blog for last week's MIM challenge.
Here are my very late entries for the challenge.

I first stamped Twig Wreath in Soft Stone ink on the tag, placed a white embossed TW die cut over it and added stamped leaf and pine boughs.

Autumn wishes

Just a quick drop in as it's almost the

If you don't know NBUS = "Never Been Used Before"
Both the frame and the stamps are new to me this summer.
(Oops! I lied. The grass was stamped with an old wood stamp)
I fussy cut the pumpkins as my order from PTI had not arrived
with the dies. The scarecrow was colored with copic markers.

PTI Stamp: Autumn Scarecrow
PTI Die: Infinity Frames

I fell in love with Heather Nichol's funny scarecrow
and have several panels ready to color some October
evening while watching the baseball playoffs.

autumn feathers & happy fall

Papertrey Ink's September Blog Hop & Time Out

Inspired by this gorgeous art, I focused on the bird's tail feathers,
colors, and black background for my first card

PTI Stamps: Feather Finery & Tiny Tags
PTI Dies: Feather Finery, Mix & Mat: Postal & Tiny Tags
Misc.: background Hero Arts Envelope Pattern stamp, twine

With my resident bird-watching hubby, I couldn't ignore the bird!
The second card focused on the bird and red flowers on black.
Jim is off to Peru this weekend for a two week trip with his bird-
watching pals. His hobby makes it easy to purchase certain stamp
sets. ;-)
