There is Sunshine

Make It Monday #253

Reverse Stenciling

Today's card was made with my new Make It Market
Mini Kit: Sunshine & Rainbows from Papertrey Ink.
If you view Betsy's video, you'll see how to do this technique.

As you can see from my photo, we have a sunny June day!

The word "sunshine" was die cut out of the stenciled panel,
backed with bright yellow card stock before mounting the
panel on a light orange card base.

Happy for you

Create Along with Us June 2016

I really enjoyed this month's release at Papertrey Ink especially the Woodblock Prints collection.
When I saw Amy Sheffer's "Thanks" card I immediately thought of the Irresistibly Ikat set.

Amy used stencils to create her background but mine was stamped.

Enjoy This Special Day

This was a fun card to make after viewing Dawn McVey's video on making Gradient Watercolor Die Cuts. Using three Distress Inks, I watercolored a piece of watercolor paper. Next die cut a medium size feather and inlaid it on a woodgrain paper bookmark which was adhered to a chartreuse card with foam mounting tape. The sentiment was stamped directly on the feather and a vellum banner die cut. The bookmark was completed with a baker's twine bow. All products except for the twine and woodgrain paper are from Papertrey Ink.

Card Menu:
Stamps: PTI What the Doodle: Butterfly
Dies: PTI Basic Bookmark #2, Feather Finery, Tag Sale: Quilted
Inks: Ranger Archival Black, Distress peacock feathers, tumbled glass, twisted citron

time to celebrate

Papertrey May Blog Hop Challenge

Time for another Blog Hop using Papertrey Ink products and inspired by this summery poster:

My card has a flower stamped in various colors from
Heather Nichols' Be stamp set and the sentiment
added in two different fonts from Wet Paint III.
The panel is mounted flat on a top-folding green card base.

So many graduations this spring and mostly girls!

It's a Good Day

Make It Monday #248:

This week, Lizzie showed her tips for ink blending using our own die cut masks!
Here is her lovely example:

I chose Papertrey Ink's Cover Plate: Blue Skies Rays and Zappy Birthday dies. I used Distress Inks hickory smoke and black soot for the Zappy birthday city scape and squeezed lemonade for the sun rays, tumbled glass for the blue sky with a bit of ripe persimmon near the skyline. Grounded the scene with a washi tape road and added a Mama Elephant - Up Up and Away sentiment. That good lady Stella winked a bit of sparkle on the sun rays too.The masked panel is layered on foam over a charcoal woodgrain pattern paper.
