Merry Christmas to You

Papertrey Ink October 2015 Blog Hop Challenge

We were given this photo as an inspiration point.

It's been so much fun ordering new Christmas stamping stuff this fall and I'm glad that the blog hop catered to all our desires to showcase the holiday season early. When PTI's Brushed Off stamp set appeared Amy Sheffer designed a card using the circle images and stamping twice, rotating the stamp and using a second color on the second stamping. I used Distress Inks festive berries and picked raspberry making an instant ornament! Drawing a string with a gold Sharpie pen, I hung my ornaments and decorated with snowflake dies from Paper Smooches. The sentiment is from PTI's Treetops Glisten. The panel was mounted on fun foam and adhered to PTI red card stock. I'm enjoying all the variety of inspiration at October PTI Blog Hop so click on over to enjoy it yourself!

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

SEPTEMBER 2015 BLOG HOP

with Papertrey Ink and many of its loyal fans!

Oh, how I wished that I had ordered Heather's twig wreath last month! But when you look at your stash of paper crafting tools things pop up! I first inked the Hero Arts Chalkboard background stamp with HA Unicorn ink and smudged it with a paper towel. Used Papertrey Ink's Rustic Wreath die and cut it from wood veneer card stock. The leaves & acorns were die cut using Quilted: Autumn dies & paper scraps and finished with gold inked berry sprigs from the same set. The PTI sentiment is from Life is Beautiful. Before adhering the chalkboard panel to the card, score lines were added to imitate the framing on the awesome inspiration photo.

Grateful

It's officially fall weather today in Oregon - rain, clouds, falling leaves!
After our hot, hot summer this is so welcome.
Today I made two cards using the Enclosed: Leaf die from Papertrey Ink.
This NBUS/D (never before used stamp/die) arrived last month and it's been
fun playing with it. I'm supposed to use stamps but hoping the dies
will count too!

Papertrey Ink Dies: Enclosed: Leaf; Sentiment Splits: Curve Vertical
Paper: kraft card stock, Basic Grey pattern paper, paint chip strip

Papertrey Ink Die: Enclosed: Leaf
Paper: kraft, yellow & shimmer card stock, paint chip strip

I'm linking these cards to Sweet Darnell's NBUS Challenge #5

thankyou nest of thread

    SAF 2015 Threads Challenge

I loved watching Laura's video on how she creates her
thread nests and ombre color panels. She is so funny, isn't she?
Recently I made an anniversary card here and the die cut stencil
looked so pretty with its golden spray spots that I kept it. I'm
sure glad because it looks amazing on the dark gray
card stock it's mounted on. This card has no stamping -
just die cuts. Orange yarn from the stash forms a thread nest.
Entering this is PTI's Stamp-a-Faire Threads Challenge - here

Papertrey Ink dies: Wonderful Words: thank you and Modern Cross Cover Plate.
Ink: Hero Arts Butterbar-Orange Ombre Pad and Heidi Swapp Gold spray

A last minute entry to this week's Make It Monday #222 challenge:
Die Cut Kissing where Betsy Veldman showed us a set of gorgeous
cards made with her "kissing" technique. Her video gives all the details
on Nichole Heady's blog  capture the moment   My card is much too
busy for my taste. The die cut rays should have been left off and I
  would like it better.

Happy Anniversary

PTI Make It Monday #221

Together is a Beautiful Place to Be

This week Ashley Newell demonstrated a masking technique for sentiments. You can see several of her ideas and talent here - Make It Monday challenge

I made a stencil with the Papertrey Ink Modern Cross cover plate and directly applied a Hero Arts Butter to Orange Ombre inkpad over the stencil with a white 4.25 x 5.5" panel underneath. Before the stencil was removed I sprayed Heidi Swapp Gold Shine over the orange ink (not easily seen here but trust me it shines). Removing my sentiment mask I stamped a sentiment from PTI Quilted: Spring in Distress Ink Hickory Smoke. The panel was adhered directly to a white A2 card with some gold colored polka dot strips on each side to frame the panel. But it needed something more...aha! Since it was going to be an anniversary card (#42) using two birds would be perfect for my bird-watching hubby. I die cut the smallest bird dies from PTI Songbirds from a gold metallic paper. Perfecto (at least in MHO)  Such fun - hope he likes it too!

Maybe you can see the golden gleam better on this shot!
