Make It Monday #285: Felt Flowers
The challenge this week featured Lizzie Jones who shared a felt flower tutorial on
her blog Don't Forget to Write. It's full of ideas and many beautiful creations which
she uses on gifts and tags. I no longer use hot glue guns due to past finger burning
incidents. (Grin) Instead I created a flat flower using a Kay Miller mandala die and
two leaf die-cuts from Gran's Garden, an idea I cased off Dawn McVey's card from
the April release week. It turned out better than I thought it might because 1) my
stash of old patterned paper contained this dotty gem and 2) the PTI lavender moon
card stock. The mandala base is cut from PTI tiny dot vellum and mounted on foam
tape hidden behind all of the felt die cuts. A dot of lime green Stickles to the flower
center finished the flower. The sentiment is a favorite from PTI Winter Woods.
I really love the PTI wool felt. This card will be mailed to a friend next week.
