Betsy used a Woodblock Prints stencil as her guide for a demo card in this week's MIM.
I used a different stencil from the same set, several Distress Inks and a water brush to
paint my design on watercolor paper. After it dried, the panel was die cut and mounted
directly to a saffron spice card. It was embellished with several flowers from
Gran's Garden. I must confess to casing a similar card by Dawn McVey.
But wait, I can't waste the wet ink on top of my stencil!! I laid a stitched panel
But wait, I can't waste the wet ink on top of my stencil!! I laid a stitched panel
of white card stock on the wet stencil and got a funky negative image as a result.
Two butterfly die-cuts mounted with foam tape on a stitched gold vellum rectangle
and finished with a simple sentiment made a second card!
