Happy birthday

My card was inspired by Dawn McVey's card & video for this week's
Make It Monday challenge on the capture the moment blog.

She encouraged us to mix different floral sets on our projects and design with
small, medium and large sized blossoms to create our cards. I used PTI stamps
& dies: Bitty Bouquets, Leave It Be, Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2 and Ruby
Rose plus the Stitched Die cover plate.

I finally purchased Rosie Posie during the spring anniversary sale but had not inked it up yet. Oh, my, now I know why so many have said it was one of their favorite floral sets. I inked up each flower in the set but chose the cabbage rose to anchor this card. A sentiment from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday was centered on the Stitched Cover Plate panel first before arranging the flowers in the bottom corners. I mounted the roses and one blossom of the Bitty Bouquets on foam and tucked the rest under the roses. A long process but it resulted in one of my favorite cards this year. Stamping the die cuts in different ink combinations was the most fun and left me with more flowers to create another card or two. A bit of clear Wink of Stella adds some sparkle.

Merry & Bright

Dawn McVey's tag on release day 2 with the color
combo of rich red and pink inspired me this month.

I pretty much cased her design with my current supplies.

JOY

 Merry Monday Christmas Challenge: #255

It's always a "joy" to add to the Christmas cards finished pile!

The alphabet "joy" letters are from Altenew, the rest of the dies are Papertrey Ink.
No stamping on these cards.

Repetitive Small Images - stamped and/or die cut

Several crafting gurus that I follow enjoy stamping backgrounds with the small images that are included in many clear stamp sets. This week Lexi shared her CAS method of using these smaller stamps in a repetitive format to create a quick, graphic card on the Capture the Moment blog.

Lexi's card

This was so much fun!
Because I wanted to use several neglected stamp sets, I made three
different cards. If I had been thinking like some crafters on PTI's Make
It Monday challenge, I would have made card sets for future gifts.
Next week...

Card #1 -  4 bar size (3.5 x 5)
PTI stamps: Sketched Shapes, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday
PTI Tipped Tops dies and Linen Impression plate

Card #2
PTI stamps: Autumn Pumpkins, Mighty Oak
Dies: PTI Mix & Mat: Herringbone, SSS stitched rectangles

Card #3
PTI stamps: Choose Joy, Flower Favorites (bee), Simple Sunflower
PTI dies: Cover Plate-Stitched Die, Simple Sunflower

Thanks for stopping by.

Autumn Blessings Z-Fold Card

Card makers often get into a rut with the dimensions of the cards they make with 4.25 x 5.5" being the default size. It was exciting to see Ashley's card  and video for this week's Make It Monday challenge. Her directions for creating the basic shape and adding embellishments to personalize it were clear and precise. It was so much fun and would be a good format for birthdays. My card uses PTI's Quilted: Autumn and Stylized Autumn stamp & die sets. The middle outer fold has a panel of PTI gingham pattern paper and the last fold a Tim Holtz stencil adds texture and color. All the die cuts extend over the top edge and are backed with a matching kraft card stock die cut for neatness.

Together & Love

Nichole Heady's card on the August Release Day 1 hooked me immediately. I love wreaths!

I made two anniversary cards, mine and a dear friends, using Nichole's card for
inspiration. The lines were scored around the wreath and sentiment but two different
dies created the wreaths. The first card uses the smallest feather from Feather Finery
and the second card a sprig die from Spruce & Sprigs.

Card #1 for Roger & Karen

PTI stamps: Feather Finery, Quilted: Spring
PTI die: Feather Finery, Memory Box Classic Numbers

Card #2 for my honey, Jim who birds all over the globe

PTI stamp: Quilted: Spring
PTI dies: Feather Finery, Spruce & Sprigs

Make It Monday #294:
Monochrome Color Pop

This week's Papertrey Ink MIM challenge featured ideas from Stephanie Gold!
Her technique of monochrome design creates serene cards which helped me out
today as I needed cards for a lovely 100 year-old lady friend's memorial service.
This card will be given to her oldest daughter and family. I die cut the panel with
the oval from the Noted Scalloped die set as it reminded me of a vintage cameo.

PTI Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies & Fresh Bouquet
PTI Dies: Noted: Scalloped A2
Inks: PTI Classic Kraft, Soft Stone; Hero Arts Soft Sand; Momento Angel Pink

I made a card for another daughter using a previously stamped panel.

Stamps: Altenew Beautiful Day, PTI Spring Woods
Die: SSS Stitched Rectangles
