Happy for You

Make It Monday #292
Color Blocking Three Ways

A quick post to join the MIM Challenge this week.
All three methods Laurie used are fun. I especially like to color
block using card stock but today I tried the water color example.

PTI Stamp Sentiment from Doodlie-Do
PTI Die - What the Doodle: Sunshine
SSS Stitched Rectangle die
Distress Inks: Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry
Sequins from PTI Make It Market: Sunshine & Rainbows

I was inspired to use the three colors on the card
from my recent trip visits to Masai villages in Kenya.

Papertrey July Blog Hop Challenge

Our inspiration photo at Nichole's blog Capture the Moment

Whoops! Almost forgot that it is July 25 and time for the PTI challenge of the month.
I made this card quickly after a trip to Eugene today. Sometimes it helps to think over
the details of what you wish to create while shopping (ha ha) and so here is my late entry.
With a mini Misti stamped the blue and white panels and set the postal die cut on a foam
rectangle before it was attached to the card front.I was inspired by the post marks, blue
background and gold seal.

 PTI Stamps: Doodlie-Do & Songbirds
PTI Dies: Doodlie-Do, Mix & Mat: Postal
Ink: Hero Arts Navy
Misc.: gold embossing powder, foam adhesive tape

More photos from our recent trip to Kenya.

Friend

Make It Monday # 291
Emboss Resist Shadow Sentiments

Papertrey's Ashley presented the latest Make It Monday challenge this week.
After stamping "Friend" with black ink, Versamark ink and moving it for the shadow
effect,  I blended Distress inks over the sentiment, added the floral frame, mounted
the panel on a foam rectangle which was glued to a light yellow A2 card.

Card #1

Stamp: Bitty Bouquets
Die: Floribunda Frame

Card #2
Earlier in the week I made a card using an older set, Note Niblets.
I can't remember when I last took this out of its case. When I stamped
the "Cheer" with brown Versafine ink I didn't clean the stamp off
completely and it left a light tan shadow. It works for the MIM
challenge but card #1 fits Ashley's criteria of a white shadow better.

Stamps: Note Niblets
Die: Note Niblets, SSS Stitched Rectangles

We had an unexpected trip to Kenya the first part of July to help with a dental clinic and construction of a new elementary school campus. While there we were invited to visit three different Masai groups. It was an incredible experience and on one occasion our men each received a blanket and walking stick from the Masai men and the ladies a beaded necklace from the Masai women. I'll share a few photos of my third African adventure below and more in the future.
