You are my sunshine

MAKE IT MONDAY #288: Pantone Chip Inspired Cards

This week Lexi shared a clean, CAS color idea inspired by Pantone chip cards.
I've used paint chips on cards before but had not thought of this as a design
element! It was so much fun! I found an already prepared "smile"die cut, and
matched it to card stock. Then chose a small sentiment from a PTI Framed Out
set and a sun shape from another FO set to complete the card.

PTI Stamps: Framed Out #2 & 3
Dies: SSS smile, PTI Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical Die

hello

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

Shades of ombre - Wow!

I'm nursing a summer cold and had some difficulty
thinking clearly as I pondered this serene photo for
the challenge. I took a literal interpretation, stamped
a jar in Versamark and clear embossed on water color
paper. I used a water brush and distress inks to create
the ombre bottom in the jar with a faint line of Tumbled
Glass outlining the entire jar. Gran's Garden flowers
and leaves are supported by Meadow Greens stems. The
panel was die cut with a SSS stitched rectangle die
and adhered to a light gray card. While I like the result
I'm not inclined to think it's my best effort! Oh, well, off
to the Arts Festival and then two weeks in Kenya building
a school and working in a dental clinic with my husband.

Stamps: PTI Gran's Garden, Meadow Greens, Winter Woods (sentiment); Inkadinkado jar
Dies: PTI Gran's Garden, SSS stitched rectangles
Inks: Distress Inks Bundled Sage, Evergreen Bough, Old Paper, Pine Needles, Tattered Rose,
Tumbled Glass, Worn Lipstick; Momento London Fog
Misc: clear Wink of Stella, foam adhesive

thinking of you

Inspired by All the Little Things #62

Fun photo with so many colors. We recently visited Las Vegas
and I immediately thought of the Bellagio lobby's ceiling of
floral images. I used a new to me PTI set to create my card.

PTI Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies and Butterfly Hope
Dies: PTI Noted: Scalloped Vertical and SSS Stitched Rectangles
Various Hero Arts and Distress Inks

We're leaving for Kenya on Tuesday where my husband will
help in a mission dental clinic and I'll line up adobe bricks
on a new campus construction project. See you in 3 weeks.

Make It Monday #286:
Coordinating Card Pairs

We've been away for a few days with two of my mom's sisters and their families in Las Vegas where one aunt lives. Her husband has been on hospice recently due to his parkinson's disease but has rallied for now. We talked a lot, ate delicious food and toured the Bellagio's wonderful conservatory of Asian floral displays. We arrived home late last night and woke up to lots of yard work. This evening I managed to gather some energy and join this week's challenge at the last minute. I used the negative and positive portions of a You've Been Framed: Oval die cut from a panel stamped with several of the Palm Prints leaves in various greens. They were glued to kraft cards and here they are!
